East Timor - Day 5

A different day today, heading out for a day trip from Dili to visit a project run by Brazilian friends of Simone, Pastor Eduardo and his wife Giselle.

We drove through some of the most beautiful and breathtaking scenery we had ever seen on some of the most bumpy and winding roads we had ever been on, dodging potholes all the way.

We finally arrived at Projet Montanha after a car breakdown and some car sickness, to a very warm welcome with iced strawberry tea, lunch and a presentation from Giselle about the work they do, including having the best dental clinic in all of East Timor. They now need a dentist so if you know someone....? The ladies arrived for crochet class and showed us their intricate and beautiful work which is sent to Australia for sale.

After lunch it was back in the cars for the long ride home and views over Dili that left us speechless.

We decided to end the night watching the sunset on the beach and eating dinner there too, with Grace strumming her banjo and everyone singing Amazing Grace. Amazing indeed.
